In today’s creative market, it is imperative to have access to proper editing tools — primarily Photoshop — to prepare images for print and digital production. Rarely are images placed as “raw” files when used as commercial content. Instead, they are manipulated — and, on occasion, mutilated — to convey a visual message. Most of the time, photos require background or “extraneous content” removal, or just simple retouching, like removing fly away hair or unwanted glare, opening closed eyes, colorization and/or adjustments of clothing, cloudy skies or photo “bombers”.
In addition, there is an ever-evolving industry dedicated to the preservation and restoration of aged and faded photographs, keeping the family tree in bloom for upcoming generations to admire.
The samples below merely illustrate a few projects involving this process.
